Membership

The Nigerian Harmony Club Of New York INC offers an elegant, contemporary and welcoming ambience where members mix and meet to exchange ideas, build relationships and entertain their guests. It is a Club committed to the highest level of comfort and cuisine, exceptional events and an unmatched level of personal service at home and abroad.
Members’ nominees must be approved by the Membership Committee. The Committee’s task is to help the roster of club members to grow steadily and to advise and assist the management and board of directors, so that the balance and quality of members is always maintained.
Membership of the Nigerian Harmony Club Of New York INC is “by invitation only” in the tradition of our prestigious club.
Members also have the privilege of proposing suitable colleagues, friends, family members and business associates for membership.#

Application Requirements
Applications should be completed and returned to the Membership Committee together with all sponsoring letters and additional supporting materials. Processing will be completed only upon receipt of all materials under a single cover. It is the responsibility of the sponsor to see that an application is complete.
All applicants applying for Member must provide two letters of sponsorship from current Club members or fellows in good standing.

Application Checklist
• Completed application.
• Letter of sponsorship from a current Club member or fellow in good standing.
• Letter of co-sponsorship from a second current Club member or fellow in good standing.
• Supporting materials, including poof of employment position.
• Photograph of applicant (preferred but not required).

Review of Application
After the complete application is received, the Membership Committee will review it for eligibility, as defined by Article III of The NHCNYC Bylaws. This committee will evaluate the applicant for admission to The NHCNYC and then, if accepted for admission, assign the category of membership. The Membership Committee, not the sponsoring member, decides which category of membership is assigned. The Membership Committee’s recommendations are submitted to the Board of Directors for final approval.

Acceptance
If an applicant is elected to membership, the Club will notify both the applicant and the sponsor. If an applicant is denied membership, only the sponsor will be notified. Annual dues and initiation fee are due forty-five days after initial notification. Dues will be pro-rated by half for all members accepted after June 30.
